One True Love

A friend of mine wrote a post about his take on "someone Meant To Be". Old question. The debate still rages on. Some people say you bet there is! Others say in your dreams (almost literally).

I think women are more into the concept of the "one true love" than the men. Maybe it's because we grow up with this concept. We have all these romance stories that keep the concept alive. The love songs out there with lyrics that say someday my prince will come. Can you blame a girl for getting ideas?

Most people think that our other half will be tall, dark and handsome. Well...read the rest of this entry

Chef Tony’s Christmas Offering

Christmas FlavorsChristmas Flavors

During the long Christmas Holidays, thonning is a must. Of course, popcorn is a must! One of our favorite sources: Chef Tony's.

They have some limited edition flavors and christmas choices. The ones I got to taste were Warm Butter Caramel, Creamy Hazelnut and Belgian Chocolate. The limited edition flavor is Belgian Butter.

Not being a toffee lover, the caramel didn't appeal to me much. My taste buds just couldn't make heads or tails of the flavor. I thinks it's better to keep that a flavor for my candy.

My Christmas PickMy Christmas Pick

The Belgian Butter had no appeal either. I love buttered popcorn so I guess it's belgian butter that does not appeal. It just appeared too bland.

Now let's get to the flavors I loved! As you can see, I think these make a great Christmas gift! The Belgian Chocolate is a unique taste and yummy. The Creamy Hazelnut though is what tops the tree for me. Can you tell how much I love it?

Before You Sit Down

Traveling in crowds and very slowly can be draining and after a long shift, one tends to just want to sit bonelessly, dead brained and praying that this particular vehicle will get you home without stopping at every spot where people are standing. You get in find a comfortable seat and drift til it’s time to get off.

Since I now have a longer commute to work, I find it helps to pay attention to the small details to keep spirits up. I noticed that aside from the usual “badge not honored here” and “God knows Hudas not pay” posters, there was a small white board with yellow writing. Being way in the back, I couldn’t read it.

As soon as some chairs became vacant, I transferred up front, behind the driver so I could read it clearly. Here’s what it said: Read the rest of this entry »

The Ride

I took a cab to work this week to avoid being late. Now, I always make note of the taxi name and plate so that I can text my family - thus increasing safety. The taxi name or company was Jesus First.

The first 5 minutes were forgettable. The remainder had me thinking this guy wanted me to see Jesus first, way before anyone else...and soon! He drove like we were in a video game with a fire burning up the rear - not literally. He switched lanes, swerved, skidded and all but stunt drove down EDSA. Now, I'm not one to freak at driving fast but this was more like a car chase with no one running after us!

So how has your week been? Anything interesting to share?

Balance

At our graduation yesterday, one of my new bosses talked about how balance is really a matter of choice. It is up to use to set how much time is used up by work and how much is then allocated to the rest of life.

At that point, I recalled why I love my Franklin Covey planner so much. One thing I learned from the What Matters Most course I took when I chose to get my planner was that we decide what we value and plan our time and life around these things. Balance is achieved by taking care of what we value.

Now, this is very individual. For example, I value being effective and productive at work but I also value my family time. That would mean that I must ensure to make time for my family, not just time to be home - dead to the world in sleep usually. I deliberately set time to hang out with my LP and kids to touch base on what's happening in their days (work or school) and find out what their into. We hang out, play games, eat and sometimes just sit beside each other while we all surf the net or read books.

Another thing I value is time for myself is a critical thing to keep myself functioning well. I find I NEED space where what I will do will benefit no one but me. This can be as simple as an hour to read a good book or an afternoon hanging out with old friends. It can be a day off where I sleep in or a trip to the spa.

There are many other things that are important to me and yes, it can be quite a juggling act to make sure that all these needs get met. I know though that in the end, it is important that I do so to make my life a quality one. We must LIVE and not just go through the days in a daze.

Balance...for me to be able to continue to work effectively, a must not an option.

Team Fredo Team building

Somehow we managed to squeeze in the team building in the short time allotted. Due to a java error I can't seem to upload pics so I resorted to putting them up on my flicker then blogging here to drag them in somehow. Will upload the rest when I can get multiply to accept them.

Pardon for the image quality. My poor 3230 is dying already. I need a good digicam and a great phone.

Nails! Nails! Nails!

I love having a manicure! They make the hands look so elegant. I love colors - even the ones that make the boys go, "did you kill the one who ran over your hand?". In short, your nails look dead. I say, to each their own and nail colors are just an accessory, much like a watch or jewelry.

Anyway, one style I was never into is called french tips. I found the idea funny. Imagine, you paint your nails to look like your nail. it seemed like too much work to make your nail look like a polished version of itself.

Then my aunt gave me a DIY french nail kit. So I figured, wth, let's try it. Hmmmm....interesting. It seems to appeal to a number of people. The nice part, most people don't seem to realize I have any polish on - I guess that was the idea then hehehehe. The best part: It's really easy to do as long as you have the nail guides.

Now I'm thinking about nail tattoos. A friend was telling me about this shop in The Block that does them for about 150. You do have to have your nails done in white though before you go to them. I don't know though id 150 for something that will grow out in about two weeks is worth it. There some lovely sticker tattos and fake nails that are great though.

For those interested in how to DIY french manicure, you can take a look at these pages or websites: I like this - it has pictures!

Eureka Episodes

More episodes of Eureka! More to watch. You guys probably already saw these but I still want to share links for those like me who mainly watch online now.

Episode 5 is a mummy episode. Is there really a curse?

Who created comic book stories? Geeks. So naturally, there just had to be a superhero episode (Episode 6). After all, who doesn't dream of becoming a one?

Election fever has hit Eureka. It's Vincent against Zoe's boyfriend against the weatherman. Can you guess who becomes the new Mayor? That's Episode 7.

High At 5!

The account that I work for celebrated it's 5th anniversary today and I enjoyed the party. The venue was Club Filipino. There was a lot of good food - so much that I'm sure there were left overs. The place was big enough to accommodate more people than there were - sadly many couldn't make it. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone there seemed to be set on having a good time.

I guess it is partly because I now know more people in the company than I used to. Though I arrived alone, I was sure I would find someone to sit with and true enough, there were a lot of people willing to let me sit with them. I found myself shifting tables, sitting with various groups, saying hi to those I knew and getting to know a few of those I didn't.

The performances were nice. You can see that effort was put into the numbers for the event. The TL's put heart into their performances. For me, the best number was that performed by TL's Drei, Melai and Paul P with the JIL band. Now that's rocking the house!

I did my best to get videos of the event. The sad part is that multiply doesn't play 3gp . So first I have to convert the videos - if I can. Then upload it. Hopefully someone with a better cam than I had will upload their images and videos and I can just snitch and share .

Some Things I Found Funny Today

Here are some things that ticked my funny bone today.

I went to a stand that sells stuff on sticks. The girl took my order for squid balls and dropped the items in the boiling oil, stick and all. Then she takes them off the stick and serves it to me. So I had to string them all again so I could eat it. Hay!

We ate in a restaurant where everyone was wearing outrageous hats. One guy had fake butterflys attached all over. Another girl wore a head dress that reminds me of the Bellstar dancers. And jazz hands! hehehehe

While waiting for the mall to open, the guard was keeping careful watch on his assigned doors. Some people inside had to go out. He approached the doors they were standing at, told them they couldn't go out that way, then stuck the key in the lock - but didn't turn it. Then he walks away. Naturally, one of the people turned the key and walked out the door. The guard comes back, shakes his head and locks it again. If you didn't want the door opened, why put the key there? To be able to say that he didn't personally open the door?

That's all for now....

The Heat Is On!

The month may end in ber but it sure doesn't feel like it. It feels more like a summer month. There may be a breeze but it doesn't cool you. In fact, it feels like someone opened an oven. Either that or it's summer vacation, your actually on the beach but there are buildings superimposed on where the sand and surf should be.

Oh well...grin and bear it. The sun will go down soon. Things will get cooler then.

Eureka Episodes 3 and 4

Eureka has gone dog crazy in episode 3. I love the line where this character says, "so the bitch is back" - and yes, it was meant quite literally.

Episode 4 on the other hand is the awaited nuptials. The episode is titled "I Do Over" and it's a time loop episode for sheriff Carter. This is the how manieth loop in the show? Anyway, do enjoy watching the episodes. Hopefully Waddy keeps updating.

Watching Eureka

Eureka is finally back!

It's the third season and this show about a town of nerds is definitely on my watchlist. Even though it isn't showing (not even on cable yet), there's no need to be deprived. I found a site where I can watch it online .

For those who want to watch the first ep, here it is.

Then here's the second.

I hope this blogger keeps us updated. Thanks, Waddy!

Ne-Yo's Closer

If there is one reason to listen to radio or tune into MTV or MYX, it's to hear and watch great songs performed.A friend said I had to hear it but you know how it is when someone likes the song but the song doesn't like him? They sing it but it sounds too far from the actual piece for you to appreciate it? That's what happened to me.

Another friend, Gelli, is a DJ and she really loves his music so knowing her great taste in music and love of dance, I got hold of the mp3. Love it! It's already uploaded in my music section in my for those moods album.

The video must be watched too. It is so cool! I love the way they used black and white and the precision with which the dancers moved. I liked it so much, here's the video from youtube below.

Enjoy :)

You want to watch this ep! If you are a Brendan Fraser fan, watch this. If you are a The Mummy fan, watch this. If you want to get startled by Tobie, YOU MUST WATCH THIS!

Update: Kiddie Chef

I posted last week that my son was chosen to compete in the school Kiddie Chef competition. I am pleased to share the news that he won third place! Way to go, honey!

When I got to talk to his teacher I asked why he was chosen to compete. I knew that they weren't selected due to cooking ability since they don't do that in school. His teacher said he was selected because he spoke well. His job was to explain what they were making and why it was a healthy nutritious snack.

The best part, he discovered something new and healthy he'd like to eat. Oh and yes, the recognition was nice too.

The Prydain Series

I recently started re-reading some old favorites in my library. I say old favorites because the last time I read these stories I was in elementary. My joy in the story hasn't diminished though my appreciation of them is different.

Today I started on the works of Lloyd Alexander. Thanks to some wonderful book sales, I now 4 out of the 5 books in the Prydain series. The first book in the series is The Book of Three. It's followed by Black Couldron. Next is The Castle of Llyr then Taran the Wanderer. Last but ot least is the High King.

The stories focus on Taran, assistant pig keeper of Caer Daelben. He dreams of becoming a hero, of having great adventures yet doubts he will ever have them. Fate has a way of granting one's wish, hence the chinese saying, "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."

I found myself journeying along with Taran, assistant pig keeper, as he sets of to find Hen Wen, the oracle pig. He meets up with some interesting companions - Prince Gwydion, Gurgi and Eilonwyn. I found myself agreeing with Eilonwyn that assistant pig keepers (and men in general) can be very stupid. The first book is mainly about their discovery that Arawn is once again out to rule Prydain. His first step, to get rid of Hen Wen. Being one knowledgeable pig, she escapes, with Taran hot on her heels. He loses track of her and eventualy meets up with the others. Anything more I say may spoil the book for anyone else so I better stop here.

The rest of the books pick up the story of Taran as he grows older and realizes he has more dreams, more he wants to know. There is his need to know who his parents are - aren't we all curious? This is his quest in the 4th book.

Naturally, as with most stories, yes, there is a romance that develops in the series. Thankfully though it isn't one that springs up overnight. It realistically grows with the series.

The books remind me much of the works of CS Lewis (Narnia) or a child's version of Tolkein's Lord of the Rings. It carries much the same feel and a similar imagery. It is a good series, excellent for adolescents who themselevs are trying to figure out who they are and what they really want to do.

I'd say more but I hate giving spoilers that may mean that someone won't read the book anymore. Enjoy the stories of Prydain and Taran.

Rambling On A Sunday

It's a wonderful lazy Sunday. No WORK, no rush, no particular thing that needs to be done except spend time with my family. WONDERFUL! I love days like these.

We have TV at home again. After a year of no TV at home, cable is back. The kids are ecstatic. I have to admit I like having cable. Of course, I still have to be home awake in order to enjoy it but we'll see, right?

Went to my folks house today. My son seems ready to make the sandwiches for the competition he's joining next week. I am so glad my sister likes cooking and stuff. I just like to bake. He seems excited. Whether he wins or not, as long as he's happy, that's good.

On our way home we passed a shop with a funny name - at least I found it funny. The place was called "Les Appealing Salon and Day Spa". Hmmmm.....I don't think I want to have anything done there. The name might be prophetic and you come out less appealing; you'd definitely have no one to blame but yourself, hey? hehehehe.

Almost time for Fandom Live. Time to start getting ready.

Legacy Syndrome

When I was growing up, you couldn't get me to do any of the craft stuff. Home economics? Art? The talent for these things went to my sister as far as I was concerned. I felt all thumbs when it came to sewing; and had no patience to improve my stitches. Typical of youth, not much for patience with the things you don't see of value to one's self (at least at that point in time)

In those days, my grandmother would show us all sorts of craft things (knitting, crochet, cross stitch) and we might become slightly interested but in a very short while, not fun anymore means...goodbye. If I had to do any project for school, I would start it, tell my family about it. I would procrastinate and at the end, it would be ate and or mom to the rescue to help me finish. Thank you, ate, for your generosity and love. I know you often lost sleep helping me out while I got a full night's rest.

Lately though I have found myself drawn to this craft shop. I entered on a whim. I was looking for something to interest my daughter since she seems to have inhereted the crafting gift. I ended up with some weaving plates that have been really useful. I actually find it fun. It still isn't my favorite thing in the world to do but I take pleasure in seeing something beautiful come out of my clumsy efforts.

It may never be a masterpiece by the world standard - it is more like craft by number than a piece created purely by talent and imagination - still I enjoy it. There is something soothing in the peace around me while my hands are moving, putting the threads in order. I don't know if I would ever get to the point where I would be weaving cloth (need the right equipment for that) but who knows? I even find myself thinking about other things I can make with my hands, whodathunk?

Could it have been brought on by motherhood? Is it part of growing older? Is it an instinct in us to begin to try to create, to leave a mark on our world? Nor sure but I do know that I am enjoying discovering that I am not as hopeless in these skills as I once was.

H2O: Just Add Water

H2O Just Add WaterMy cousin introduced me to an Australian TV series two years ago. It's called H2O: Just Add Water. It's a TV show for teens about three girls - Emma, Cleo and Rikki - who become mermaids. They acquire some power over water and yes, tails. In this case, they become fish whenever they get wet. This was really tough on the one named Emma since she was part of the swim team. Nope, they don't give prizes for being a fish, just for swimming like one.

H20-just-add-water.jpg

At first I wasn't sold on the show. It made me think Charmed meets mermaids. Same old, same old; gave it a chance anyway and the kids liked it. The theme is catchy too and at least, it is not your old mermaids live in Atlantis jazz.

getfile.aspx.jpg

h2ojustaddwatervol1wc9.jpgAnyway, we used to watch the show on youtube, then that was gone. We got hold of the complete first season but finding the second was not so easy. Then we stumbled onto a youtube video from someone who introduced us to an online source - VEOH.com. it's free and you get to watch TV online. No need to download unless you want to. Which means I have to get off this blog and go 'thon the show.

Star Trek Moment in Numb3rs

I absolutely love it when I watch any TV show or movie and a Star Trek reference is used. In this case, it's in the episode of Numb3rs titled Checkmate - yup, I'm still catching up to the latest episode of the series, slowly but surely.

Anyway, Megan Reeves (Diana Farr) walks in and says if the scene was like when Kirk is away, Bones and Spock take over (referring to Amita [Navi Rawat] and Larry [Peter Mac Nicol]). Larry replies no, and proceeds to list the chain of command in TOS.

Hope to catch more references.

LSS... Sort Of

We were preparing for the next Fandom Live! episode and it was driving me batty that I couldn't remember the title of that reality TV show I watched way back. I knew it was a fighting competition and it had amateur martial artists competing. There were three masters and it was set in china. Other than that, I had very little recall. FRUSTRATING!

I finally found it. It was called fight school. Go figure. At least I finally found it. Now I am happy . Next!

Take A Bow

You know how it is sometimes, that you hear a song and it gets stuck in your mind? You've never heard it before but the lyrics get stuck in your mind? Well, that's what happened to me when I heard the intro of this song. I just had to learn this song.

I posted the mp3 in my music section and here are the lyrics of the song plus the video from you tube for those who are interested.

Rihanna Take A Bow Lyrics
How bout a round of applause?
Standin ovation...
Ooooh
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

You look so dumb right now
Standin' outside my house
Tryin' to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
(Please)
Just cut it out

Don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin'
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

Grab your clothes and get gone
(You better hurry up)
Before the sprinklers come on
Talkin' bout "Girl, I love you you're the one..."
This just looks like a re-run
(Please)
What else is on?

And don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin'
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

And the award for the best liar goes to you
For makin' me believe
That you could be
Faithful to me
Let's hear your speech
oh...

How bout a round of applause?
Standin' ovation...

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin'
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

But it's over now...

It's For Men

soaps.jpgThe company I work for recently brought in visitors from a company that makes and sells products for dermatology. Their name - Dermailine! Hmmm... they must have noticed how our skin is now in need of TLC. Now this was a free consultation with little giveaways and of course their hope that we would be willing to buy some products of theirs. Since the product on sale was good yet not expensive, yes, most of us got at least 1.

"What did they have?" you ask. Soap! All kinds of soap. Soap to make you whiter. Soap to even out your skin - pigmentation I think was the word she used. Soap for those who are older and need more moisture. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

There was also a table full of other products for sale. Sunblocks, astringents, creams, and ... a masculine wash! Now, I know marketing has been going for differentiating the products for men from that for women - reverse of the 80's unisex trend - but this ...I just had to laugh.

I guess this came to mind because as I listened to the RX DJ's talking about the latest product of their sponsor - a feminine wash that's supposedly cool - I could actually hear this guy rolling his eyes or trying to get this segment over as quickly as possible. Uncomfortable topic for men apparently. What would he say to a wash of his own I wonder. At the rate things are going, men will have as big a kikay kit as we women do - less the stuff for menstruating since unless a miracle happens, men won't need that.

It Makes My Day!

I thought today wouldn't be so good. I was rushing from the time I woke up and felt I had so much to do and no time to do it. Doing any overtime still wouldn't give me the necessary time to get those reports done since there were other more urgent matters that needed to be accomplished. Ah the juggling act of important, urgent and what can be done later. I miss my Franklin planner. Oh well....

Anyway, what made my day? Hearing someone say, "You did great!" especially when they weren't very cooperative to start with. To know that you put a smile on someone's face when they were expecting to have a tough time and you made it easy; that little pat on the back makes a long shift seem light and just makes me happy to make a difference - small though it may be.

Education: It Costs!

A lot of people think it is tough to give birth and I agree! I also tell them it is far harder to raise the child after they come out. Aside from keeping them healthy and happy, there are the expenses for their daily needs. A few years later, the cost of education rears its ugly head. Ouch!

In this country, education is not free. If you want your kid to get places here, they must go to a good school - and these schools cost. There are quite a number to choose from and not all of them charge like they think money just falls from the trees. But again, the simple truth is, they still cost; quite a bit. Usually at a minimum of about P25,000 (anything less is probably a little known school out of the main areas of the city).

Speaking as a single parent, it really isn't easy. It isn't easy even if you aren't a single mom, so you can imagine how much tougher it is when you are. Your salary that should be enough sometimes isn't. You find yourself having to stretch the budget to its thinnest to cover the essentials, what more this? Yet, we as good parents know that this cannot be left undone. So where, oh where, to find the means.

I found myself thinking that if money were as easy to make as it is in neopets where all you have to do is play a few games, man! we'd all be filthy rich. No more financial worries.

Sigh...prayers, faith, hard work and keeping the eyes open for opportunites. That's all we can do.

Do We Need Another Hero?

Three more days and the Ironman movie is about to show. Makes me wonder, do we really need another hero? It seems like it has been one cuper hero or comic book hero after another coming up on either the big screen or boob tube. There's even a show titled Heroes

I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the movie but I wonder when new ideas will come out from Hollywood. I kinda feel like Tina Turner singing "We Don't Need Another Hero". Then again, we need people to inspire us sometimes so we do need heores, it's just not all of them are endowed with super human abilities.

That reminds me. The Ironman tagline is interesting. "Heroes aren't born. They're built". For more Ironman talk, do watch the Ironman episode of Fandom Live!

We'd love to hear your answer to the question that Nick posed in the show. Just send in your answer to live@fandomcafe.com or visit us at fandomlive.multiply.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

The Danger of Window Shopping

Why would you shop for windows? hehehehe....funny! Women love to shop. When they can't buy what they want yet, they look in alll the windows and go through the collections but don't necessarily buy - hence window shopping. In short, just looking.

Problem is, when you window shop you are still being tempted to buy. Then you come across a sale...and there are some really cool stuff on display... Danger! Wallet alert! The window shopping is over and you have actually bought stuff you didn't plan to get or need yet.

It's still fun to look though and it is always great to hang out with the girls and compare choices. Who knows, the bargain you find may really be worth breaking the budget.

Rambling

You ever had the experience where you look at someone and you just see that they are wrapped in sadness? I had that experience. I like this person so my natural inclination is to approach and try to help alleviate the sadness, even for just a moment. THAT can be difficult though. Imagine approaching a porcupine and trying to hug it when all the spines are really puffed up. Nope, not a masochist.

It just got me thinking, when no one is looking, do I project an aura of happiness? sadness? Or do I just look like my usual sleepy self?

Distress By De-stressing

My office mate brought to work a small toy that he said his ten year old put together quickly. It was a snake puzzle that forms a 3x3x3 cube. The ego naturally thought that well, if a 10 year old could solve it then it should be easy, right? My co-worker was nice enough to leav me the puzzle so I could figure it out.

And now here I sit at the end of my day and I still haven't solved it. A lesson in patience and logic! I know that I will figure it out but in the meantime I am driving myself crazy with this toy.

Bathing or Basting

Among my christmas gifts was a packet of organic soap. They were not only great for your skin, the scent….hmmmm….delicious. The packet I was given contained 4 bars. One was labeled green tea, the others peppermint, chocolate and 1 had no label but was a multi-hued bar. When I asked the giver what it was she said that the seller just called it their christmas bar.

I started with the christmas bar (it being a match to the holiday) and discovered that it contained peppermint, cinnamon, nutmeg and a few ingredients I will just have to guess at. Just slightly abrasive to help exfoliate and the peppermint cooled the skin nicely.

As I stood in the shower, enjoying the scent, I had a sudden picture of a chicken Read the rest of this entry »

Lack of Sleep

People tell me that working in a shifting schedule should be no big deal. You just adjust the time that you think of as "day". In reality though, that isn't true. Our body (at least mine anyway) seems to strongly respond to the fact that the sun is in the sky or if it is the moon sailing among the clouds. Even if I am busy doing a lot of things, with the sun down, my brain feels more sluggish, especially in the hours between midnight and 6 am.

The funny thing is that as soon as I look out the window and see the sun rising, I too feel awakened, though not necessarily refreshed (my bleary eyes tell me I haven't had enough sleep). I feel a little more optimistic and I feel that I can complete my day on a high. Thank God for the Sun! That sounds funny coming from me - the NOT morning person :)

I also find it tough to rest during the day time hours since our household is anything but quiet, especially with everyone in holiday mode still. The door to my room is periodically opened and closed as my LP goes about his day, the kids peek in to see if I'm awake or they want to ask permission for something. Then there's the phone - thank goodness they don't wake me up for phone calls unless it is urgent!

More often than not, I find myself waking every hour or two. That means I didn't really sleep. Even if I get 6, 8 or even 10 hours, I still feel crummy and am living for my next day off. It also means I have little or no energy to spare for most of the activities that my friends or family are into. It is an extra effort to be where they need me to be (let alone for parties and such) as I battle the call of my bed every additional moment I am awake past my "day". I sometimes wonder if I will ever adjust like so many others have.

While I try to keep up with my need for sleep, the rest of my life continues and the balancing act proceeds. The juggling act of health, my lp, motherhood, relationships with other family members and friends and work , and the battle to have a LIFE not just exist continues.

My New Year Entry

The old year has passed. A new one has taken its place. As the sky is lit up with multicolored flashes, I recall with gratitude the many things that have made 2007 memorable.

  • To my sweetie - Thank you for your choice. I am blessed in you and I say thank you for all that you do everyday to show me your commitment.
  • We may not be able to choose who our family is but I know I am blessed in mine. I am thankful that we are all still together and in good health. My dad's health has improved in 2007. Hopefully this year he will be completely restored to perfect health.
  • Friends are very precious. Through the ups and downs, the confusion and even the disagreements, they are treasure unequaled. To those who stuck by me and helped me through the rough patches, to the ones who always took time to care, thank you. I hope you have a wonderful, prosperous and very blessed 2008.
  • Children are very special. I am personally not fond of children but I know that I was blessed with truly wonderful kids. We had a great new year's eve together with everyone pitching in to help prepare the feast. I hope it is just the start of an even more wonderful year.
  • I started a new job in the first month of the year. I am doing well in it and I am helping others. It allows me to help my family flourish.I hope that this new year will see me move up in the company to the position (and salary) that I want.
  • I have to say, thank you to the bank that handled my account for finally getting back online and making it posssible for us to finally get our money. For whatever the reason for the delay, at least we were able to get it in time to have a great new year feast.
There are more reasons to be grateful and much to look forward to. I hope everyone had a great holiday and look forward to all of us having an even better 2008. A very happy new year to everyone.
